Where can I view the doors?

Whilst our full range of doors are shown in ultra high resolution on our website, there are many who believe there is no substitution for viewing a product first hand. If this applies to you, please contact your local approved installer who will have product for you to view.

We also have a range of single and double door systems on permanent display in the showroom of our Bristol factory and at the National Homebuilding and Renovation Centre in Swindon (J16 M4) We shall additionally be displaying a range of our doors at various events and home improvement exhibitions nationwide, please contact us for further details and schedules.

Are aluminium doors better than other alternatives?

Door choice is very much down to personal taste, however we believe that our new door range shares the best benefits of the whole spectrum of competing door systems yet has no specific disadvantages itself, so we shall leave you - the customer - to form your own opinion.

Do you manufacture your own products?

All of our door systems are manufactured in-house according to our strict quality control procedures.

How many years experience do you have?

Universal was established in 1985 and has been providing high quality materials and components to the construction industry since that time.

How can I get a price?

If you would like a ‘Supply-Only’ price one of our dedicated sales staff will contact you either by phone, fax or email. If you would like a ‘Supply and Fit’ price then one of Approved Installers will contact you directly with a quote.

How do I place an order?

If ordering your door as ‘Supply-Only’ you can complete the order form contained within our brochure pack and fax, email or post this to us using the details on our ‘contact us’ page. If ordering a your door as ‘Supply and Fit’ one of our Approved Installers will contact you with details on how you can place your order directly with them.

What types of payment do you accept and do you charge for credit or debit cards?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, and apply no additional charges for card payments. We also accept payment by cheque. If ordering your door as ‘Supply and Fit’ then your Approved Installer will supply details of the payment methods they accept.

What are the payment terms?

If ordering your door as ‘Supply-Only’ then payment in full is required at the time of ordering, and includes the delivery charge supplement. Our payment terms apply uniformly across the whole range of door systems without exception, irrespective of door style or size. If ordering your door as ‘Supply and Fit’ then your Approved Installer will supply you with full details of their payment terms.

Do Universal offer financing schemes?

Universal do not currently operate any financing schemes for the range of door products. However if you are ordering your door as ‘Supply and Fit’ please ask your Approved Installer for full details of any finance schemes they may offer.

What is the normal delivery period?

Typical delivery period for a ‘Supply-Only’ door is 15 working days from date of order, irrespective of location within the UK. Delivery lead time for overseas addresses can be provided upon request. If ordering a ‘Supply and Fit’ door then your Approved Installer will contact you directly to arrange delivery and installation.

Do you have approved contractors for installation?

Yes, Universal have a network of Approved Installers throughout the UK.

Am I able to specify my own door furnishings/ ironmongery?

If ordering a ‘Supply-Only’ door then as an alternative to our range of door furnishings specially selected for their high quality, customers have the option at the order stage of requesting the door to be delivered unfurnished, allowing the customer to specify self-sourced door furnishings. If ordering your door as ‘Supply and Fit’ then your Approved Installer will be able to advise you on this before confirming the order with them.

Do my new doors come with a guarantee?

All designer door systems come with a 10 year guarantee covering the surface finish of the door and frame against fading, discolouration and deterioration. If you order your door as ‘Supply and Fit’ then your Approved Installer will issue you with our 10 year guarantee plus additional guarantees for the installation work, for full details please contact the Installer directly .

Will my replacement door add value to my home?

In the majority of cases, your new designer door will be as a replacement for a lesser quality of door or to replace an older door which is beyond its prime. In which case there is little doubt that the door upgrade will improve both the appearance and impression of your property to others, and consequently this is likely to have a positive impact on property value.

Are there any requirements for routine maintenance?

Due to their aluminium construction, our door systems require minimal maintenance, comprising periodic cleaning of the door, frame and door furnishings and some lubrication of the locking mechanism.

Do you provide after sales services?

Universal Aluminium Systems Ltd deliver a full after sales service, providing our customers with total peace of mind. This service allows all post-sales queries, spares requirements and warranty issues to be addressed in the most swift and efficient manner by our service advisors and through our our Approved Installers.

How can I be assured of the quality of your door products?

Universal Aluminium Systems have over 25 years experience in the manufacture of high quality aluminium systems for the construction industry. All of our door systems are rigorously quality controlled to ISO 9001:2008 throughout each stage of the manufacturing process, and every door system is fully backed by our 10 year surface finish warranty, ensuring your door keeps its factory-fresh looks for years to come.

Are there any options for alternative lock mechanisms?

All doors in our Designer Door range are fitted with a single lock mechanism type only, due to its slim profile and proven high security credentials. As this is a specific pattern which the door is designed around, there are presently no plans to offer alternative lock systems.

Is there a limit on door way size?

Size of door must be between
-width: 500 - 1100 mm
-height 1500 - 2300 mm

Do you carry out door repairs?

If you ordered a ‘Supply-Only’ door and it requires repair work, either under warranty or through accidental damage by client (the latter at customer expense) then please contact us directly. If you ordered a ‘Supply and Fit’ door then please contact the Approved Installer who fitted the door.
